Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar or honey
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornmeal with 1 cup of cold water to form a smooth paste.
- Gradually pour the cornmeal mixture into the boiling water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Add the salt and ground cinnamon, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the porridge thickens.
- Stir in the sugar or honey to sweeten the porridge, adjusting to taste.
- Remove from heat and let the porridge cool slightly before serving.
