Costillas Con Guayaba (guava Glazed Ribs)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork ribs
  • 1 cup guava paste
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Season the ribs with salt, pepper, and cumin.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the guava paste, orange juice, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat until the guava paste is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Place the seasoned ribs in a roasting pan and brush with the guava glaze.
  5. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 1.5 hours, basting the ribs with the glaze every 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the ribs are caramelized and tender.
  7. Serve the ribs hot, brushing with any remaining guava glaze.
