Cottage Cheese In Butter Gravy (paneer Butter Masala)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and sugar. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the water and bring the gravy to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat and add the cubed cottage cheese. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the remaining butter, heavy cream, and dried fenugreek leaves. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Paneer Butter Masala is ready to be served!
