Cottage Cheese In Butter Sauce (paneer Butter Masala)

Ingredients

  • 400g cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup cashew paste
  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp green chili paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a pan and add the cottage cheese cubes. Sauté until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the remaining butter and ginger paste. Sauté for a minute, then add the tomato puree and cook until the butter separates.
  3. Add the cashew paste, green chili paste, sugar, garam masala, and salt. Cook for a few minutes, then add water as needed to adjust the consistency.
  4. Add the sautéed cottage cheese cubes and kasuri methi. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Finally, add the fresh cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and then remove from heat.
