Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese (chhena)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, and cardamom powder. Knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into flat round pancakes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the pancakes until they turn golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine the sugar and water to make a sugar syrup. Bring it to a boil and then simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Soak the fried pancakes in the sugar syrup for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Once soaked, remove the pancakes from the syrup and serve them warm.
