Cottage Cheese Skewers (paneer Tikka)
Cottage Cheese Skewers, also known as Paneer Tikka, is a popular South Indian appetizer that is perfect for a quick and flavorful snack. This dish is made by marinating cubes of cottage cheese in a spiced yogurt mixture and then grilling them to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cottage cheese (paneer), cut into cubes
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 tomato, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons of oil for grilling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt.
- Add the cottage cheese cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Thread the marinated cottage cheese, onion, bell pepper, and tomato onto skewers.
- Heat a grill pan or stovetop grill over medium heat and brush with oil.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the cottage cheese is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
- Remove from the grill and serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
