Creamy Chicken Tikka (lucknowi Murgh Malai Tikka)
Creamy Chicken Tikka, also known as Lucknowi Murgh Malai Tikka, is a popular dish from the Awadhi cuisine of India. This dish is known for its rich and creamy marinade, which results in tender and flavorful chicken pieces.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/4 cup cashew nut paste
- 1/4 cup grated paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, fresh cream, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ground cardamom, salt, lemon juice, and oil to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- After marination, add cashew nut paste, grated paneer, and chopped coriander leaves to the chicken and mix well.
- Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers and cook on a stovetop grill or in a pan until the chicken is cooked through and has a charred exterior.
- Serve hot with mint chutney and naan or rice.
