Creamy Chicken Tikka (lucknowi Murgh Malai Tikka)

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup cashew nut paste
  • 1/4 cup grated paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, fresh cream, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ground cardamom, salt, lemon juice, and oil to make the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. After marination, add cashew nut paste, grated paneer, and chopped coriander leaves to the chicken and mix well.
  4. Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers and cook on a stovetop grill or in a pan until the chicken is cooked through and has a charred exterior.
  5. Serve hot with mint chutney and naan or rice.
