Mısır Çorbası, or Creamy Corn Soup, is a traditional Gagauz cuisine dish that is perfect for warming up on a chilly day. This comforting soup is made with simple ingredients and bursting with flavor.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the corn kernels and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Using an immersion blender, blend the soup until smooth. Alternatively, transfer the soup to a blender and blend in batches.
- Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy your creamy corn soup!
