Creamy Mushroom and Chicken Pasta (Mantarlı Tavuklu Makarna)
Mantarlı Tavuklu Makarna, or Creamy Mushroom and Chicken Pasta, is a delicious Crimean Tatar dish that combines tender chicken, earthy mushrooms, and creamy pasta for a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 300g chicken breast, diced
- 250g mushrooms, sliced
- 300g pasta
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until the mushrooms are golden brown and the onions are soft.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce.
- Remove from heat and serve the creamy mushroom and chicken pasta hot.
