Creamy Rice Pudding (Sütlaç)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup short-grain rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the rice and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 30-35 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and let the sütlaç cool for a few minutes.
  5. Divide the sütlaç into serving bowls and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
