Creamy Spinach Paneer (ಪಾಲಕ್ ಪನೀರ್)
This creamy spinach paneer, also known as ಪಾಲಕ್ ಪನೀರ್, is a popular dish in Udupi Cuisine. It combines the goodness of spinach with the richness of paneer, making it a nutritious and flavorful dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped spinach
- 200g paneer, cubed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp ghee
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the ghee separates.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
- Gently stir in the paneer cubes and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and garam masala. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Adjust the seasoning and serve hot.
