Ingredients
- 1 pound lump crabmeat
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently combine the crabmeat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, bell pepper, green onions, egg, garlic, Creole seasoning, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper.
- Form the mixture into 8 crab cakes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the crab cakes in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
