Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh crab meat
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning

- 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Creole seasoning, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 8 crab cakes, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the crab cakes hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
