Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Creole seasoning, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 8 crab cakes, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the crab cakes hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
