Creole Style Crab Soup
Creole Style Crab Soup is a traditional dish from Martinican Cuisine that is bursting with flavor and perfect for warming up on a chilly day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh crab meat
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup okra, sliced
- 4 cups seafood or chicken broth
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hot sauce, to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and sauté until softened.
- Add the tomatoes, okra, and crab meat, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the broth, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Season with hot sauce to taste.
