Crispy Chilli Fish

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless fish fillets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, red chili powder, black pepper, and salt. Add water to make a smooth batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Dip the fish pieces in the batter and deep fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add chopped onions, bell peppers, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
  6. Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, and a splash of water. Stir well.
  7. Add the fried fish pieces to the pan and toss to coat them with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
