Crispy Honey Chilli Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon red chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Toss the potato strips in this mixture until well coated.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the coated potato strips until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  3. In another pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add chopped garlic and green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the chopped spring onions and sauté for another minute.
  5. Now add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, honey, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  6. Add the fried potato strips to the sauce and toss until they are well coated.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
