Crispy Honey Chilli Potatoes are a popular Indo-Chinese appetizer that combines the sweetness of honey with the heat of chilli, creating a delicious and addictive dish.
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, cut into thin strips
- 1/2 cup cornflour
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 4-5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon red chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Toss the potato strips in this mixture until well coated.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the coated potato strips until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- In another pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add chopped garlic and green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
- Add the chopped spring onions and sauté for another minute.
- Now add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, honey, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the fried potato strips to the sauce and toss until they are well coated.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
