Crispy Onion Bajji (ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ ಬಜ್ಜಿ)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups gram flour (besan)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually to make a smooth batter with a thick consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Dip the sliced onions into the batter, making sure they are well coated.
  5. Carefully drop the coated onions into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the crispy onion bajjis from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
