Crispy Onion Uttapam
Crispy Onion Uttapam is a popular South Indian dish made from a fermented rice and lentil batter, topped with onions and cooked to crispy perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of idli/dosa batter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup of fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Pour a ladleful of batter onto the center of the pan and spread it into a circular shape.
- Sprinkle a portion of the chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt over the batter.
- Drizzle some oil around the edges and on top of the uttapam.
- Cook until the bottom is golden and crispy, then flip and cook the other side.
- Repeat with the remaining batter and toppings.
