Crispy Tofu Sisig
Crispy Tofu Sisig is a vegetarian twist on the classic Filipino sizzling sisig dish. It's a flavorful and crispy tofu dish that's perfect for both vegetarians and meat lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Cut the pressed tofu into small cubes and fry in the preheated pan until golden and crispy. Set aside.
- In the same pan, melt the butter and sauté the garlic, onions, and green chilies until fragrant.
- Add the crispy tofu back into the pan and pour in the soy sauce and calamansi juice. Stir well.
- Add the mayonnaise and mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the crispy tofu sisig to a sizzling plate and top with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot and sizzling.
