Crispy Tofu Sisig

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into small cubes and fry in the preheated pan until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt the butter and sauté the garlic, onions, and green chilies until fragrant.
  4. Add the crispy tofu back into the pan and pour in the soy sauce and calamansi juice. Stir well.
  5. Add the mayonnaise and mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the crispy tofu sisig to a sizzling plate and top with chopped green onions.
  7. Serve hot and sizzling.
