Croatian Cheese Strudel (Hrvatski štrudel s sirom)

Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, feta cheese, sour cream, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  4. Repeat the process with 3 more sheets of phyllo dough, stacking each one on top of the other.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture along the long edge of the phyllo dough, leaving some space at the edges.
  6. Roll up the phyllo dough, tucking in the edges as you go, to form a strudel.
  7. Place the strudel on a baking sheet and brush the top with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
