Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups ground walnuts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture until a soft dough forms.
  4. Press half of the dough into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the ground walnuts, honey, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Spread the walnut filling over the dough in the baking dish.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the walnut filling, covering as much of the filling as possible.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
