Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups ground walnuts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Press half of the dough into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ground walnuts, honey, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Spread the walnut filling over the dough in the baking dish.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the walnut filling, covering as much of the filling as possible.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
