Croque Monsieur
Croque Monsieur is a classic French sandwich made with ham, cheese, and creamy béchamel sauce. It's a delicious and indulgent treat that's perfect for brunch or a light lunch.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread
- 8 slices of ham
- 8 slices of Gruyère cheese
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Make the béchamel sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan, then whisking in the flour and cooking for 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
