Crunchy Cashew Pakoda (ಗೋಡಂಬೇ ಪಕೋಡ)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Few curry leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, chopped cashew nuts, chopped onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, baking soda, curry leaves, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually to form a thick batter. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the pakodas from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
