Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized squids, cleaned and tentacles removed
  • 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 5 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 4 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the stuffing by mixing the shrimp, shallots, garlic, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  2. Stuff the squids with the shrimp mixture and secure the openings with toothpicks.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the green chilies, shallots, and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add the stuffed squids and diced tomato to the pan, and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Dilute the tamarind paste in 1 cup of water and pour it into the pan. Add sugar and salt to taste.
  6. Cover the pan and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the squids are tender and the sauce thickens.
