Czech Garlic Soup (Česnečka)

Ingredients

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add the vegetable broth, diced potatoes, caraway seeds, and marjoram. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
  4. While the soup is simmering, toast the bread slices and poach the eggs.

  6. Top each bowl with a poached egg and serve hot.
