Czech Goulash with Bread Dumplings (Guláš s Knedlíky)

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the beef cubes over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds, then pour in the beef broth and tomato paste.
- Season with salt and pepper, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- Meanwhile, prepare the bread dumplings by mixing the flour and baking powder in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together, then combine with the flour mixture to form a dough.
- Shape the dough into small dumplings and cook in boiling water for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve the beef goulash with the bread dumplings and enjoy!
