Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the beef cubes over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds, then pour in the beef broth and tomato paste.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the bread dumplings by mixing the flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together, then combine with the flour mixture to form a dough.
  7. Shape the dough into small dumplings and cook in boiling water for 15-20 minutes.
