Daging Mangga is a traditional dish from Manado cuisine, known for its tangy and sweet flavors. This dish combines tender beef with the refreshing taste of ripe mango, creating a delightful and unique flavor profile.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 red chilies, sliced
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned.
- Add the diced mangoes, red chilies, tamarind paste, sweet soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir well.
- Simmer for 45 minutes or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve the Daging Mangga hot with steamed rice.
