Daging Szechuan Pedas (spicy Szechuan Beef)

Ingredients

  • 500g beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2-3 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Szechuan peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the garlic, ginger, and red chilies. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the beef slices and Szechuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Pour in the water and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt to taste and stir well.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
