Ingredients

  • 20 puris (hollow, crispy Indian crackers)
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 1 cup sweetened yogurt
  • 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
  • 1/2 cup mint-coriander chutney
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare all the chutneys and keep them ready.
  2. Crack the top of each puri to make a hole large enough to fill the ingredients.
  3. Fill each puri with a small amount of mashed potatoes and chickpeas.
  4. Top each puri with a spoonful of sweetened yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint-coriander chutney.
  5. Sprinkle chopped onions and tomatoes on top of each puri.
  6. Finish by adding a pinch of chaat masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt to taste on each puri.
  7. Garnish with sev and fresh coriander leaves.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
