Dajaj Tikka (tandoori Chicken)
Dajaj Tikka, also known as Tandoori Chicken, is a popular dish in Iraqi cuisine. It is a flavorful and aromatic chicken dish that is perfect for grilling or roasting.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, ginger, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper, and salt.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
