Dak Galbi (닭갈비)
닭갈비 (Dak Galbi) is a popular Korean dish made with marinated diced chicken, vegetables, and sweet and spicy sauce. It is often cooked on a stovetop and is a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless, skinless chicken thighs, diced
- 2 cups cabbage, sliced
- 1 cup sweet potato, thinly sliced
- 1 cup rice cakes
- 1 cup scallions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 cup sweet potato noodles, soaked in water
- 1/2 cup Korean chili paste (gochujang)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the Korean chili paste, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
- Add the diced chicken to the marinade and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until it is almost cooked through.
- Add the cabbage, sweet potato, rice cakes, and scallions to the skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sweet potato noodles and continue to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot.
