Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) chicken wings
  • 1 cup potato starch
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Coat the chicken wings with potato starch and shake off any excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the chicken wings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 10-12 minutes per batch.
  5. In a separate saucepan, combine corn syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Toss the fried chicken wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
