Daktyla Decadence
Daktyla Decadence is a traditional Cypriot dessert that is sure to impress your guests. These sweet, flaky pastries are filled with a delicious nut mixture and then drizzled with honey for the perfect finishing touch.
Ingredients
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of mixed nuts (such as walnuts, almonds, and pistachios), finely chopped
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup of honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into strips about 3 inches wide.
- Place a small spoonful of the nut mixture at the end of each strip of phyllo dough.
- Roll up the phyllo dough, enclosing the nut mixture, to form a finger-shaped pastry.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet and brush them with the melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle the pastries with honey.
- Allow the pastries to cool before serving.
