Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup of almonds, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped almonds, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Unroll the phyllo dough and cut it into strips about 3 inches wide.
  4. Place a spoonful of the almond mixture at the end of each strip and fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle shape.
  5. Brush the triangles with melted butter and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the honey and water until it comes to a simmer.
  8. Drizzle the honey syrup over the baked triangles.
  9. Allow the Daktyla to cool before serving.
