Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole black lentils
  • 1/4 cup red kidney beans
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the whole black lentils and red kidney beans overnight.
  2. Pressure cook the soaked lentils and beans with salt until soft.
  3. Heat butter in a pan, add cumin seeds, and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the butter separates.
  5. Add the cooked lentils and beans to the tomato mixture and simmer for 1-2 hours.
  6. Stir in cream and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
