Ingredients
- 1 cup whole black lentils
- 1/4 cup red kidney beans
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak the whole black lentils and red kidney beans overnight.
- Pressure cook the soaked lentils and beans with salt until soft.
- Heat butter in a pan, add cumin seeds, and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the butter separates.
- Add the cooked lentils and beans to the tomato mixture and simmer for 1-2 hours.
- Stir in cream and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
