Dal Pitha (lentil Pancakes)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow lentils
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Soak the lentils in water for 2 hours, then drain.
  2. Grind the lentils into a coarse paste.
  3. In a bowl, mix the lentil paste, rice flour, onion, green chilies, ginger paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt.
  4. Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into flat pancakes.
  6. Heat a non-stick pan and cook the pancakes until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
