Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow lentils, cooked and mashed
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, potatoes), finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 12 samosa pastry sheets
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the vegetable oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the mixed vegetables and cook until they are tender.
- Stir in the mashed lentils, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Take a samosa pastry sheet and fold it into a cone shape. Fill the cone with the lentil and vegetable mixture and seal the edges using a flour-water paste.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the samosas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
