Danish Blueberry Danish (Blåbærsnitter)
Blåbærsnitter, also known as Danish Blueberry Danish, are delicious pastries that are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat with a cup of coffee. This recipe combines a flaky pastry with a sweet blueberry filling, topped with a simple glaze.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 equal rectangles.
- Place a spoonful of the blueberry filling onto half of the pastry rectangles, then cover with the remaining rectangles. Press the edges to seal.
- Brush the pastries with the beaten egg and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled pastries.
