Danish Gingerbread Cookies (Pebernødder)

Ingredients
- 250g all-purpose flour
- 125g butter, softened
- 125g granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
