Ingredients

  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 125g butter, softened
  • 125g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
