Danish Pork Roast (Stegt Flæsk)
Stegt Flæsk is a traditional Danish dish consisting of crispy pork belly served with potatoes and parsley sauce. It's a hearty and delicious meal that is popular in Denmark.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork belly
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 lb potatoes
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Score the pork belly skin and rub with salt and pepper.
- Place the pork belly on a rack in a roasting pan and roast for 20 minutes until crispy.
- Boil the potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the chicken broth and cream. In a small bowl, mix the flour with a little water to make a slurry, then whisk it into the broth and cream mixture to thicken.
- Stir in the butter and parsley, and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the crispy pork belly with the boiled potatoes and parsley sauce.
