Ingredients

  • 1 kg mixed fish (carp, catfish, perch), cleaned and cut into chunks
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 6 cups fish or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the onions, carrots, and celery, and sauté until the vegetables are soft.
  2. Add the garlic, tomatoes, and red bell pepper, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the paprika and bay leaves, then pour in the white wine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the alcohol evaporates.
  4. Add the fish chunks to the pot, then pour in the fish or vegetable broth. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover the pot and let the soup simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  6. Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve the soup hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
