Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until finely chopped.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, beaten egg, garlic, ginger, green onions, water chestnuts, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- Form the shrimp mixture into small balls, then roll them in cornstarch to coat evenly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the shrimp balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- Remove the shrimp balls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
