Delectable Tave Dheu
Delectable Tave Dheu is a traditional Albanian dish that combines tender lamb with a flavorful blend of vegetables and herbs, all baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb, cut into chunks
- 2 onions, sliced
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, brown the lamb chunks in olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the lamb and vegetable mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Pour water over the mixture, cover the baking dish with foil, and bake for 1.5 hours.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown.
