Delicious Tavë Shkodrane

Ingredients

  • 1 large eggplant, sliced
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Layer the sliced eggplant and potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground meat with the chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the meat mixture over the potato and eggplant layers.
  5. Top with sliced tomatoes and crumbled feta cheese.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil over the top and season with additional salt and pepper.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
