Dherosh Bhorta (stuffed Okra)
Dherosh Bhorta, also known as Stuffed Okra, is a popular Bangladeshi dish that is bursting with flavor. This dish is made by stuffing okra with a spicy and tangy filling, and then cooking it to perfection.
Ingredients
- 20 fresh okra
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash the okra and pat them dry. Cut off the tops and make a lengthwise slit in each okra, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- In a bowl, mix together the onions, tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Stuff each okra with the prepared filling mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan and place the stuffed okra in a single layer. Cook on low heat, turning occasionally, until the okra is tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and serve hot.
