Ingredients

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fruit salt (eno)
  • 8 bread slices
  • Butter for spreading
  • Green chutney
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Chaat masala for sprinkling
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix gram flour, yogurt, ginger paste, green chili, turmeric powder, sugar, and salt to make a smooth batter.
  2. Add fruit salt to the batter and mix gently. The batter will become frothy.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased plate and steam for 10-12 minutes until the dhokla is cooked through. Let it cool and then cut into squares.
  4. Take 2 bread slices and spread green chutney on one slice and tamarind chutney on the other. Place 2-3 pieces of dhokla on one slice and cover it with the other slice.
  5. Spread butter on the outer side of the sandwich and grill on a pan until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Sprinkle chaat masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
