Dhokla Sandwich Sensation is a delightful and savory dish from the Gujarati cuisine. This recipe combines the soft and spongy texture of dhokla with the crunch of a sandwich, creating a perfect fusion of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon fruit salt (eno)
- 8 bread slices
- Butter for spreading
- Green chutney
- Tamarind chutney
- Chaat masala for sprinkling
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix gram flour, yogurt, ginger paste, green chili, turmeric powder, sugar, and salt to make a smooth batter.
- Add fruit salt to the batter and mix gently. The batter will become frothy.
- Pour the batter into a greased plate and steam for 10-12 minutes until the dhokla is cooked through. Let it cool and then cut into squares.
- Take 2 bread slices and spread green chutney on one slice and tamarind chutney on the other. Place 2-3 pieces of dhokla on one slice and cover it with the other slice.
- Spread butter on the outer side of the sandwich and grill on a pan until golden brown and crispy.
- Sprinkle chaat masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
