Ingredients
- 2 cups pre-cooked cornmeal
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon anise seeds
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the pre-cooked cornmeal, grated cheese, sugar, salt, and anise seeds.
- Add the milk gradually and knead the mixture until it forms a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into oval patties.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the mandocas until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
