Dikgobe Dumplings
Dikgobe Dumplings are a traditional dish from Botswana, made with flavorful ingredients and wrapped in a delicious dumpling.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cooked chickpeas, onion, tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Place a spoonful of the chickpea mixture in the center of each circle, then fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges to form a dumpling.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the dumplings and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings from the water and serve hot.
