Dikgobe Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked chickpeas, onion, tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
  4. Place a spoonful of the chickpea mixture in the center of each circle, then fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges to form a dumpling.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the dumplings and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  6. Remove the dumplings from the water and serve hot.
