Dolma (armenian Stuffed Mushrooms)
Dolma is a traditional Armenian dish that consists of delicious stuffed mushrooms. This recipe is a perfect combination of savory flavors and is a great option for a vegetarian meal or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 12 large mushrooms, stems removed and reserved
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the chopped mushroom stems and tomato to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked rice, sautéed vegetables, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the rice mixture.
- Heat the remaining olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Place the stuffed mushrooms in the pan and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
- Serve the dolma hot and enjoy!
