Dolma (armenian Stuffed Peppers)
Dolma is a traditional Armenian dish made with stuffed peppers, and it's a delicious and flavorful meal that's perfect for a special occasion or a family dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup rice
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the rice, ground beef, onion, parsley, mint, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and meat mixture.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a deep pot and pour the chicken or vegetable broth over them.
- Cover the pot and cook the dolma over low heat for 1 hour, or until the peppers are tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the dolma hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
